Creating an Inclusive Campus Through UDL
Thursday January 30, 2025 10:15am - 11:30am PST
Join us in a universally designed session to learn about how one school district’s effort to bring UDL created more equitable outcomes for all students. Colfax Elementary School District (PK-8) partnered with Open Access and the California Coalition for Inclusive Learning in order to create an inclusive campus for all their students. In this session, we will share their journey including barriers and successes as well as offer tools to determine UDL readiness and to support implementation.

The Intersections of UDL and SEL (In person & Hybrid)
Thursday January 30, 2025 12:30pm - 1:45pm PST
In this immersive session, we'll explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) guidelines and SEL are not separate initiatives adding to teachers’ already busy schedules, but powerful frameworks that build upon each other. Together, they create a unified approach to support students in a way that transcends traditional boundaries. We'll delve into how UDL, celebrated for its inclusive instructional practices, seamlessly integrates with CASEL's 5 Core Competencies, which nurture students' social and emotional growth. Throughout our session, you'll gain practical insights into how these frameworks bridge academic and emotional growth, support student voice and choice, and promote a culture of respect and empathy. By the end of this workshop, you'll see how these frameworks align and amplify each other, enriching your teaching practice and student support.
