UDL-Based Coaching: Supporting Inclusive Instruction (In person & Hybrid)
Thursday January 30, 2025 12:30pm - 1:45pm PST
This session explores the impact of coaching in implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) across diverse educational settings, from county-wide initiatives to district and school-level support. Grounded in the belief that UDL unlocks equitable learning opportunities, we will demonstrate how coaching enhances its implementation by providing educators with targeted guidance.

At the county level, we collaborate with districts and charter schools to create universal professional learning pathways that empower coaches, TOSAs, and instructional leaders to foster inclusive environments and scale best practices.

District-wide, our coaching expertise helps align system-wide UDL goals with supplemental support and instructional improvements, supporting LCAP objectives and increasing access for all learners.

At the school-site level, instructional coaches are equipped to bridge theory and practice, guiding teachers in applying UDL strategies to daily instruction and fostering flexible learning environments for diverse students.

Designed for those advancing equitable education, this session highlights the transformative role of coaching through UDL in creating inclusive classrooms.

Inclusion in Early Learning through the UDL Lens. In Person & Hybrid
Thursday January 30, 2025 2:00pm - 3:15pm PST
This presentation focuses on the vital role of inclusion in early childhood education through the framework of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Participants will explore how UDL principles can create an inclusive environment that honors and celebrates the diverse abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles of every child.

We’ll examine practical strategies to ensure that all learners feel valued and engaged. By providing multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression, educators can tailor their approaches to meet the varied needs of their students, including those with disabilities. Real-life examples will highlight how inclusive practices not only enhance learning outcomes for children with disabilities but also enrich the experiences of all learners, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging.

Interactive discussions and collaborative activities will empower educators to reflect on their current practices and envision innovative ways to embed inclusion into their classrooms. We’ll address common barriers to inclusion and share solutions that promote equity in early learning environments.
