About me
Dr. Jose Blackorby, Director of Research in Learner Variability in the Special Education Policy and Practice area within Division 1 of WestEd. Jose is a experienced educator and innovator with a rich background in leading design, development, and research efforts. His expertise encompasses STEM, data science, computer science, literacy, mathematics, and the application of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework to build inclusive and effective educational solutions. Jose has also contributed to the field through his application of design thinking, improvement science, and evidence-centered design. As an instructor of the UDL course at Harvard for eight years, he has played a significant role in shaping the approaches to adaptive and accessible education.
